Samsung has introduced three low-cost 3G smartphones in India, aiming to offer wireless data connectivity at an affordable cost to the young, and entry-level consumer. The three devices are – Samsung Champ 3.5G (S3770) at Rs. 5,590, the Samsung Ch@t 527 (S5270) at Rs. 5,930, and the Samsung Primo (S5610) at Rs. 6,590.
All three devices run proprietary
operating systems, with the only touchscreen of the three – the Samsung
Champ 3.5G – featuring Samsung’s TouchWiz Lite UI. The Champ 3.5G also stands out as the only one with a document viewer onboard.
As for the 3G connectivity, all three
devices have HSDPA, with a maximum bandwidth of 7.2Mbps. The Samsung
Primo – the most regular looking of the three – features the best
camera, with a 5MP autofocus offering with LED flash.
